The Recipe:
- To make your oven-baked lasagne with ham, start by making the white sauce: cook the sieved flour and butter in a pan over a low heat.
- Mix with a hand whisk and pour on the milk very slowly in a thin trickle continuing to whisk all the time to avoid the formation of lumps. Add salt and nutmeg, bring to the boil and cook for about 10 minutes until the white sauce thickens.
- While you are cooking the sauce, never stop mixing: in this way, you will prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan or burning. When the white sauce is ready, remove it from the heat and let it cool: in the meantime, cook the lasagne sheets in plenty of boiling water for about 5 minutes.
- Spread a spoonful of white sauce on the bottom of an oven dish and lay the first layer of pre-boiled pasta on top. Then, follow up with another layer of white sauce and the slices of ham (Dolce Vita Montorsi). Add some of the diced mozzarella cheese and cover with more pasta sheets.
- Make as many layers as you like and, when you have finished, sprinkle the top with plenty of grated cheese to make it turn crisp and brown. Oven bake for 30 minutes at 180°C.
