The stuffed frittata recipe is a quick and easy solution you can learn to help you surmount a number of stressful situations in the kitchen: when you run out of bread or you are short of time, or even to qualm a sudden bout of hunger . Eggs are one of the quickest ingredients to cook, as well as being nutritious and tasty, so a stuffed frittata roll may easily be used for rustling up a family dinner in no time at all. If, on the other hand, you wish to offer an impromptu aperitif to a friend who has decided to stay on for dinner at the last moment, the Golden roll will come to your aid.
The Recipe:
Break the eggs into a bowl and beat them thoroughly, add a handful of grated parmigiano reggiano cheese, a pinch of salt and some freshly grated pepper. Finish incorporating these ingredients and then proceed to melt the butter in a frying pan large enough for 4 eggs. You may even prepare two smaller frittatas so long as they are as fine as crêpes. Pour the eggs into the pan and cook the frittata well on both sides. Then, turn off the heat and sprinkle the cheese evenly all over the surface.
Now lay the slices of cooked ham on top and roll up the frittata as tight as you can. Remove the roll from the pan and put it onto a serving dish. Cut the roll into disks and serve while still warm. Alternatively, you may leave the roll to cool by wrapping in tinfoil and popping it in the fridge to rest.
